4^th Grade: The small group size and interactive setting that all Blue Ridge programs provide inherently address the topics listed in the Performance Standard ELA4LSV1(a-l) which relates to the student verbally interacting with peers and teachers.

5^th Grade: The small group size and interactive setting that all Blue Ridge programs provide inherently address the topics listed in the Performance Standard ELA5LSV1(a-l) which relates to the student verbally interacting with peers and teachers.

6^th Grade: At Blue Ridge we try to always introduce new, sometimes technical vocabulary to all students who visit our program. It is not enough for students to see, hear and touch what is here. We strive to help them make a connection between their experience here and their home environment. These dual goals for all classes satisfy S6CS9 (c)(d), SS6RC1(c)(d), ELA6RC3(a)(c), and ELA6RC4(a).
